Veteran Gratitude: A Personal Story With Our Veteran

My blogs are geared to assist my clients in learning the truth about a specific event, situation, a personal relationship, business dealings, locating an heir, finding a missing person, conducting a proper background check or determining if your phone, office or residence has been bugged.  But today it isn’t about helping just one person or company or law firm, it’s about a big reason I honor those who serve our country. Veterans day is Monday, November 11th I want to share how one person in one situation did his part for our country. On this day we honor those who served or are serving in the military.  It’s an opportunity to thank them for standing up and protecting our county.  I am honored to have [...]

Garbage In…Garbage Out: Why Providing Accurate Information to Your Private Investigator Gets You The Results You Need

Before we begin a case, we conduct preliminary research to make sure the information provided by the Client is accurate.  Most often, the information is good, but there are times the Client may transpose a number, forget a birthday or have an approximate year of birth, may not have the Subject’s social security number or any other mitigating factor that would hinder our investigation and not produce the best results. If we are to locate an individual or find a missing heir, the information needed may not be available to our Client. Before conducting surveillance, we run the Subject through our Database(s) that are only accessible by licensed investigators for accuracy. People move, they buy new vehicles, they gain or lose weight, dye their hair, [...]

The Importance of Employee Background Checks with Social Security Numbers

Social Security Numbers used to be issued from the state you applied and/or your parents applied for on your behalf. To file taxes, be reported as a dependent, work in the US, used as identification, open a bank account, apply for credit an SSN (Social Security Number) is required. The first three numbers of a social security number at one time represented the state it was issued.  Now, numbers are in a random pool and the first three numbers do not indicate an issuing state.  If the first three (3) digits are “000”, “666” or in the “900” series, it is an invalid social security number.  If any portion of the social security number contains all “0’s”, such as 000-12-1234, 11-00-1234 or 111-11-0000 the social [...]

A Song Trip Though Memory Lane: How to Know When You Need a Private Investigator

The long and winding road can lead us to locating a missing person or heir.  Verifying their identity prevents us from hearing, it’ ain’t me babe, so you know when you receive our results, you have a ticket to ride straight to court or close a trust, then you can lay back and drink a beer. I heard it through the grapevine that some people run to the hills to avoid the process of service, even a smooth criminal can’t escape the real world.   We will locate them, serve them legal documents, create an affidavit of service and justice for all.  Not all locates require serving legal documents, some searches are for lost loves, not all people are found by chasing pavements or by a [...]

Why would you need your phone forensically extracted and analyzed?

Why would you need your phone forensically extracted and analyzed?  Here are a few reasons to do so. Example 1: Deletion of Personal Information - A Client requested a “dump” of her cellphone. Dump meaning data extraction.  Even though she had backed up the phone to the cloud some photos were not there, and she could not access text messages that she had deleted in a moment of anger from her device. The messages contained attached photos and information required by her employer. Example 2: Evidence Needed for Court - An attorney requested to have his Client’s phone Cloned. Cloned meaning a Forensic Extraction of Data. He was in the pre-liminary stages of representing his Client in an Employment Sexual Harassment Case. His Client’s boss [...]

Can “Negative Information” create a Positive Result?

It’s a familiar post on Facebook, for those of us that still have an account, that Negative Information (Not Politically incorrect), I mean Negative:  focused on what is bad or lacking is shared more often than a positive post?  What about Negative Reviews?  When someone is impacted by an act or words they cannot accept or feel they have been wronged by someone or something, it is more common for them to report negative reviews than positive?  Why do we feel the need to share negative events and situations more than positive publicly? In business, positive reviews are helpful, oftentimes it is the path to connect with that business.  When a negative review is posted, how does that effect consumers regarding that business?  If there [...]

Investigations: Fact or Fiction

Our results are the truth: Is what we think we see or what we have heard or the way we feel fact or fiction? Investigations are conducted to uncover the truth. A Background Check to learn about an individual, Surveillance to observe activity, Polygraph or VSA for deception, Forensic Analysis for malware and extraction of data, Asset Search for hidden funds or net worth are conducted when finding the truth matters. We want to know if our spouse, boyfriend, significant other is faithful, and if not, we want them to have the courage to be honest about their activities, but that isn’t always the case. How do we find the answers? We want our children to be safe when we drop them off at daycare, [...]

Unreported Marital Assets and How to Find Them

Long ago, believe it or not, a housewife was given an allowance to purchase household goods and groceries. Let’s say the monthly allotment was $200.00 and the household goods and grocery shopping combined came to $185.00. The extra $15.00 was put into a secret spot to be used later for whatever reason. Years go by and the “secret savings” amounted to over a couple thousand dollars. Only she knew about the money. It was hers to be used as she pleased, maybe a new dress, the beginning of a college fund for the kids or as a luxury treat. Fast forward decades later. This time, it’s the husband who has the “secret savings” but not tucked under a mattress or in a jar. He files [...]

When to Investigate AND When Not to Investigate

I am a firm believer in the phrase, “Life Happens”, referencing situations and events that you can and cannot control.  When decisions are made by others that personally affect you, you have two choices:  “Let it Go!” Or take “Action” How do you decide which path to take. I get that question all the time from prospective Clients. They want to know what they can do or if they should do anything. I am far from having the qualifications to provide professional legal or mental advice, but I am certain from years of being a professional investigator qualifies me to provide recommendations and share like case findings and results. To sit back and do nothing may be the most logical option, but if it causes [...]

Handle your Clients with Care and You Will be Rewarded

I have had some pretty amazing times in the world of Investigations.  Especially when I receive calls from previous Clients to give me updates, request additional services, and some have called me to check up on how the Business is doing since I took over and merged it with my own company, All in InvestigationsAll in Investigations.  There are Clients who didn’t know the change of ownership and who currently is running the company, but they know from previous experiences who they can call for assistance.  I have been complimented on moving the business to a new location accessible from anywhere in Indianapolis and surrounding cities, better parking, more discreet and updated office, but the best compliments are the ones who come back because of [...]
