GPS Tracking

Hidden out of Sight, Viewed from Afar

It was just another abnormal day for Victoria.  She sat at home in her lounge chair and noticed that her smoke detector looked a bit strange.  She just ignored it at first, it was just a smoke detector and she had more than a strange smoke detector to ponder.  She had just broken up with her live in boyfriend of 5 years.  He had become a bit overbearing, demanding to know her every move, who she was with, who she talked to, even at times showing up at her place of employment.  It was just too much to deal with, and even though she cared deeply, she cared more for her emotional state of mind.

Again, she went back to that smoke detector and decided [...]

Don’t Do Nothing, Act Upon your Beliefs, you Could be Saving someone’s Life

Don’t Do Nothing, Act Upon your Beliefs, you Could be Saving someone’s Life

John knew he needed help. He had given his son, Thomas every opportunity to turn his life around and yet his son continued on the same downward spiral and then blamed his father for his many failures.  They say a parent is responsible for their children’s actions and that good parenting produces good children. That is no always the case. We tell our Clients that children learn by example, but some kids just never apply themselves and nothing a parent can do to encourage them to be more successful or responsible makes a difference. And this is exactly how our case began with John.

Thomas had some shady friends, although he had been childhood friends with them, he chose to maintain the friendship when he [...]

Marriage Infidelity Claim Leads to Unexpected GPS Tracking

Some of the cases we get at International Investigators can be pretty interesting – especially when it comes to suspected marital infidelity cases. Take for example, the case of the jealous, controlling husband who believed his wife was having an affair.

Bob* and Meredith* had only been married for a year. While they were dating, Bob had been very sweet and attentive toward Meredith. But after their marriage, Bob was becoming more overbearing. He not only controlled all of their finances with an iron fist, but whenever Meredith came home late from work, he would question where she had been and who she had been with.

When Meredith told her parents that Bob had accused her of having an extramarital affair with liaisons at a local [...]

Not All Office Spying is About Corporate Espionage

Many times, our clients are flabbergasted after we conduct a very confidential TSCM sweep of their offices. When TSCM services are combined with digital forensics, the findings catch them by surprise.

It’s not uncommon for IT departments to be asked to monitor employee’s habits in surfing the Internet. Today with so much of the business world transacting business through the Internet, monitoring has been reduced to applying restrictions and developing Internet use policies.

What Sort of Investigation?

One C-level executive had a problem and contacted International Investigators directly. He was a little uncertain about what he wanted.

There was a female admin who was giving him some weird vibes. So much so that he went to personnel to find out where she had worked previously because he was [...]

GPS and Your Cell Phone Could Prove Your Innocence

Just like that popular TV show says, “You are being watched.” Surveillance equipment is evident on buildings, in stores, on streets and just about everywhere you go and most of it is in no way covert surveillance.

Surveillance cameras are a double-edged sword. While some people are unnerved by the constant video of their actions and behaviors, other people, those who are falsely accused of a crime, are thankful for that video because it becomes evidence that they are not guilty of the crime. Computer surveillance and listening devices are now more likely to be spy equipment than the ever-present surveillance camera.

People are more likely to be victims of covert cell phone tracking than video tracking. Yes, once again the wonders of the cell phone [...]

GPS Enabled Shoes Not a Tool in Missing Person Investigations

GPS Enabled Shoes Not a Tool in Missing Person Investigations

The telephone rings in the International Investigators’ office and the caller asks us if we can find a person. We have a well-deserved superior reputation for finding people because we have developed specific strategies in how to locate people using access to proprietary data bases along with the investigative tactics.

It would be easier for everyone if all shoes worn contained GPS equipment. You do know that there are GPS shoes available now, right? Primarily marketed for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s, GPS shoes are satellite monitored with real-time tracking. Patients walking out of facilities or a front door without being noticed could be a thing of the past.

The GPS-equipped shoes are also for those people of all ages with a memory impairment; autistic teens [...]

If You Think You Need to Talk to a Private Investigator, You Probably Should

If You Think You Need to Talk to a Private Investigator, You Probably Should

Years of experience has taught a few things to the professionals at International Investigators. And one of the top rules of thumb we encourage you to follow? Well, we suggest that if you're thinking that you should speak to a private investigator, chances are good that you should do exactly that.

In our business, we've often seen that when a person has a hunch, it's for a good reason. Even if you can't quite verbalize what you think is out of place or wrong or not honest, always listen to your intuition. In the opinion of International Investigators, that sixth sense or intuition or whatever you choose to call it … well, it's rarely wrong. Around our office, we have lots of respect for intuition. [...]

Bad Partner Revealed Through Comprehensive Investigation

As a risk-taking entrepreneur, John was accustomed to feeling stressed. But for months, John felt more on edge than ever. Two of his three business partners had readily agreed to the sale of one of their jointly owned companies. But for some reason, the fourth partner adamantly disagreed. With a majority vote, the partners did not need Eric's vote in order to sell. But John didn't want animosity.

He continued to try to discuss the decision with Eric. But suddenly, Eric, the business accountant, was so angry that he refused to turn over tax records requested by potential buyers. As if that situation wasn't enough of a headache, John secretly feared that he was being watched or even followed. He avoided discussing this with his [...]

International Investigators on the Case for Large and Small Clients

International Investigators on the Case for Large and Small Clients

Since 1960, International Investigators has proudly served as a professional helpmate to all types of cases. We have worked on numerous cases involving government agencies, municipalities, insurance companies, investors, business owners, bankers and bail bondsmen.

More often than not, we can track down the guy guilty of employee embezzlement for thousands of dollars. We can even find offshore bank accounts, hidden assets and even missing assets. We can prove insurance fraud in many cases involving false claims made to insurance companies.

But some private citizens might assume that our fact-finding service is set aside only for those with deep pockets. That assumption could not possibly be farther from the truth.

Our firm is filled with a unique mix of investigators with all kinds of backgrounds. Some are [...]

What DO Private Investigators DO?

It’s not unusual for furious people to call or visit International Investigators. They aren’t furious with us, but with a situation and that is the reason they are contacting us. And sometimes with that fury comes an intent that we cannot service.

For instance, one man recently came in with a situation that had him in a blind rage. He was red in the face and yelling. He knew an employee was stealing from his supply house and he wanted this employee stopped. He wanted us to, “threaten him with his job and intimidate him into confessing publicly.”

We let him have his say and then we told him we would not, could not do as he requested. He stopped and told us he thought that [...]
