Past Brought Into the Present – Finding a Missing Person

There was this story about a WWII veteran who had dated a woman a few months in London before he was forced to leave for the Battle of Normandy in France.  After 7 decades they were reunited with the help of each of their children.

We receive many calls asking questions about one’s past loves here at International Investigators.  Our clients usually try to find them utilizing a people search type of database that only leaves them frustrated with the results.  These types of databases have a lot of information, yet nothing is verified and it is somewhat difficult to verify if the person you are looking for is the person that gets pulled up in your search.

Let’s take for instance a man who called [...]

Call International Investigators When a Key Witness is a Missing Person

Call International Investigators When a Key Witness is a Missing Person

One purpose of finding people is often overlooked. The average citizen doesn’t think about how attorneys find the witnesses they need for court.

International Investigators works with attorneys to find a person that might hold the key to their case.

We know how to find missing persons who have knowledge of the facts in a situation. For example, Mary* had known Joe* for only about six months on the evening they walked out of his home and he was arrested. She had no idea what he was being arrested for and she wanted nothing to do with anything that had to do with the police.

Immediately she quit taking his calls and when his attorney tried to contact her, her roommate informed him that she had moved [...]

Family Secret Sets off Missing Person Investigation

International Investigators is known as the place to go when you need to find someone. That’s because we know how to find missing persons. Although not a last resort, we are often part of a slim slice of hope; a tiny sliver that someone has held on to for a long, long time.

For instance:

The mother whose son left home 20 years ago.
The child whose birth parents are a mystery.
The man whose sister was adopted 35 years ago from a tiny rural town.
The father who abandoned his wife and children.
The grandmother whose grandchild was relocated to another state after the death of her child.

We often hear an emotional story and are handed a few tattered photographs. The reasons are many that have turned a wish [...]

International Investigators: Where the Only Routine is Truth and Facts

International Investigators: Where the Only Routine is Truth and Facts

Most, if not all of us, have experienced situations where we felt powerless. It’s not pleasant, by any means. Feeling like you have absolutely no control over a situation is difficult. But sometimes, even when we realize that we can’t change the outcome, we do occasionally identify a need and try to get that need met. Confused? Allow International Investigators to share some examples about the variety of ways investigators assist our clients to get the best outcome possible:

Money and Infidelity.

Your spouse announces that he no longer loves you as a wife. He doesn’t want to be married to you anymore. And no, he isn’t cheating. He just simply wants a divorce. All people are different. You might accept that speech at face value, [...]

Investigator’s Special Tools: The Cell Phone and Cell Phone Forensics

Investigator’s Special Tools: The Cell Phone and Cell Phone Forensics

We never like these stories, but they happen. As professionals, all of us here at International Investigators know that the cell phone has become one of the most productive tools in the investigator’s toolbox.

This is why forensic mobile services has exploded:

Earlier in the year a nursing student went missing from school in Oklahoma. She had told family that she was coming home for a visit but she never arrived. Foul play is always on the table in these situations and parents, friends and siblings play out all the awful scenarios in their minds.

After days the young woman was still missing. No sightings and no leads. But authorities had a cellphone witness – her cell phone. More precisely, they had a ping witness. Through specialized [...]

GPS Enabled Shoes Not a Tool in Missing Person Investigations

GPS Enabled Shoes Not a Tool in Missing Person Investigations

The telephone rings in the International Investigators’ office and the caller asks us if we can find a person. We have a well-deserved superior reputation for finding people because we have developed specific strategies in how to locate people using access to proprietary data bases along with the investigative tactics.

It would be easier for everyone if all shoes worn contained GPS equipment. You do know that there are GPS shoes available now, right? Primarily marketed for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s, GPS shoes are satellite monitored with real-time tracking. Patients walking out of facilities or a front door without being noticed could be a thing of the past.

The GPS-equipped shoes are also for those people of all ages with a memory impairment; autistic teens [...]

Would Just Finding a Missing Person Be Enough For You?

When Kim's son, Jake, announced that he was joining the United States Army, she wasn't sure how she felt about that decision. In some ways, Jake was fairly lost. He worked dead-end jobs for a few weeks then quit. He moved in and out of the family basement. She knew Jake was at least dabbling in some drug use. And so, in one way, Kim tried to hope that Jake would find the structure and direction he needed by serving in the military.

In another way, she feared that he would be rejected as a possible new soldier, either because he failed a drug screen or because he was unable to pass psychological tests. Still feeling that confusion, Kim hid her concerns behind a smile [...]

Unknown Origins and Family Far Away Found in People Search

While serving the world community since 1960, International Investigators has built an impressive global network with other investigators. We have also built amazing contacts in law enforcement and government. It goes without saying that we've had many experiences in our truth-finding missions.

With the latest technology at our fingertips, International Investigators can search countless data bases for information. We can produce surveillance video from a distance. We continue daily, to utilize the many individual skills our investigators bring to this profession. But recently, when the neighbor of a dead man came into our office, we were initially stymied by her request.

The woman's neighbor, a man in his mid-fifties, had died suddenly of a heart attack. He was a Hungarian gymnastics coach, in the states less [...]

Private Investigators Aid in Fugitive Recovery

A couple of other bail bondsmen had warned Nick about working with the guy. They took the time to explain to Nick that, while this was a high-profile case, which would obviously provide Nick's business with a lot of attention, the bail was astronomical. And along with that point, the client, a banker named McMann, had access to loads of cash and would likely be a serious flight risk.

But Nick was new to the business and hungry for publicity. He knew that McMann would leave the jail wearing an ankle bracelet for house arrest so Nick trusted that McMann would have little opportunity to skip bail.

Nick ignored the warnings from others and put up the cash for McMann's bail. Sure enough, the seasoned colleagues [...]

Mom’s Missing!

Private investigators are well aware that not all families are like the Walton's '3/28 – or even the Musketeers. It’s not always all for one and one for all. In fact, here at International Investigators we see many families in situations like this:

Caroline and her sister Laura stopped by to visit their mother, who suffered for the last decade with dementia and had been living in an upscale memory care unit. When they arrived, they learned that Roger, their youngest brother, had signed their mother out of the facility. He explained to the nursing staff that he was driving her over to Caroline's house for a meal. But Roger left with his mother and never returned. He told nurses that his sisters would return [...]
