Don’t Do Nothing, Act Upon your Beliefs, you Could be Saving someone’s Life

John knew he needed help. He had given his son, Thomas every opportunity to turn his life around and yet his son continued on the same downward spiral and then blamed his father for his many failures.  They say a parent is responsible for their children’s actions and that good parenting produces good children. That is no always the case. We tell our Clients that children learn by example, but some kids just never apply themselves and nothing a parent can do to encourage them to be more successful or responsible makes a difference. And this is exactly how our case began with John. Thomas had some shady friends, although he had been childhood friends with them, he chose to maintain the friendship when he [...]

My Son was 45 Years When I met him for the First Time

Today there is no shame in placing a child up for adoption, it is encouraged and the mother who made the decision with the best interest of her newborn child is commended and her life goes on. She has nothing to hide or be ashamed of. In today’s society, people have babies outside of wedlock, some continue their relationship without getting married, some raise the child on their own, some seek assistance from their families and some make a choice to give the child a better opportunity and place them in a family environment. My Client became pregnant when she was 17 years old, a senior in high school with a boy she had been dating for a short period of time. Not only did [...]

Drown the Pool Contractor

A middle aged couple came into our office with a very peculiar request.  They had contracted a pool company to install a fiberglass pool in their backyard.  It had been a dream of theirs to have their kids and grandkids could come over and enjoy day long activities with them. It was in early November they had contracted to have the pool installed.  They told us the contractor at that time was very nice, was very active and communicative to them.  Our Client said his wife had talked to the contractor and told him of their water problems in the basement, to which he replied he could help with that, they would install the pool and have a retaining wall towards the back of it [...]

Dating through Social Media

In life it isn’t easy meeting the right person, the woman/man of your dreams in a chance meeting. The one individual in the whole world that you feel completes you, gets you, loves you, and puts you above everything else.  The last face you see before you go to bed at night and the last voice you hear before you fall asleep. The internet and social media brings these wants closer to you than you would have even been able to do on your own.  Once click and you see that perfect person posted on your screen with all the features you ever wanted, the smile that lights up your face, the eyes, the hair and finally the body; all are perfection, or are they? [...]

Teenagers and Cell Phones

Here at , we pay attention.  We listen and learn and share our expertise and case example outcomes with our Clients.  It usually starts out like “I bet you haven’t heard this before” and in most cases we have.  What we haven’t heard are the thought patterns and real life situations with a teenager.  Therefore, we asked an 18 year old female granddaughter of one of our employees the importance of her phone, what she does with it, how she sets up her passwords and who she shares with.  This is what she told us: The life of an 18 year old is so drama filled and complexly effortless now that everyone has a cell phone. Just one touch of a button and you’ve blocked [...]

Discovery, Depositions and Findings

We had a Client, James who started and built a booming business with his longtime friend, Bill.  Bill was outgoing, charismatic while James was more laid back and book smart, while both had the desire and knowledge to start a company.  For years, growing up, through high school and college, they knew they wanted to work for themselves, didn’t want to report to a boss, wanted to have choices and full control over their own destiny and livelihood. After graduating with degrees in two different fields, they merged their knowledge and started a much needed consulting business in their hometown, just 30 minutes outside of Indianapolis.  Twenty years later, they had talked about selling the business someday to spend more time with their families and [...]
