Private Investigator Training

How to become a private investigator
Over the past 40 years, International Investigators, Inc. has trained a significant portion of today’s licensed private investigators practicing in the Midwest.  Until recently, instruction was provided only to a select few who qualified based on experience and availability for on-the-job private investigator training.  These days, we have found that individuals wanting to pursue an interest in private investigations frequently prefer to become familiar with the overall field before committing to such jobs.  Therefore, we have begun to offer affordable comprehensive private investigator training courses for individuals with varying levels of experience in the investigations industry (private or other) who want to learn how to become a private investigator.

The current nationwide trend to increase licensing requirements means it is now becoming mandatory in many states for private investigators to have undergone field and classroom training prior to obtaining either an agency license or authorized employee license.  It is likely that the State of Indiana’s requirements will soon be increased.

As one of the leading Midwest investigative firms, International Investigators, Inc. is committed to ensuring that a proper education is being provided for those intending to pursue a career or obtain a specific job in the field of private investigations.  Through our membership in the Indiana Association of Professional Investigators, we are lobbying for the State of Indiana to institute stricter requirements for license-holders in order to establish a higher level of responsibility and respectability within the profession.

In this age, our industry is under constant threat from various interest groups which want to limit the information we can legally obtain and provide due to the fact that there have been poorly-trained investigators operating who barely fulfill the minimum licensing requirement.  By having licensed investigators with the proper private investigator training and experience, and it is hoped they will have an understanding of how to navigate the legal pitfalls within this profession and thereby ultimately be better able to protect the private investigations industry.  Therefore, International Investigators, Inc. now offers the courses listed below which can assist in teaching interested individuals how to become a private investigator.

The courses outlined herein provide training and information necessary for understanding how to conduct private investigations in all 50 states, and across the globe.  The principles remain the same, only the local laws may change.  Variations in laws pertinent to private investigation will also be addressed in all of the courses offered in order to prepare students for jobs based anywhere in the country.  It is important to understand, however, that it is generally the case for the various state licensing boards to require that individuals work a specific minimum number of hours for an agency before they can become an agency license-holder.  These courses will not fulfill the work hour requirement, but they will assist students in gaining an understanding of how to procure jobs and be successful in the private investigation industry.
